You were involved early on in the Half Double journey – what do you remember most from that time?

The focus on impact and value rather than deliverables was and is quite groundbreaking, shifting decision-making power and responsibility closer to the participants executing the projects. This is a significant strength.

I also remember my frustration with the co-location expectation – which was always difficult back then – but has now been simplified by many different digital tools and platforms.

What have you taken with you from Half Double that you still use today?

Establishing a regular rhythm for check-ins with decision-makers is essential.

Co-location often makes a real difference – effective digital co-location can approximate this, but still cannot completely replace it unless everyone on the team really understands how to work digitally.

Can you remember a moment when you thought, ‘This actually works’?

I have had several complex cybersecurity projects in critical infrastructure where the Half Double methodology has been crucial in quickly and effectively turning stalled projects around to create value and impact.

What do you think Half Double has done differently – and better – than other methods?

Impact, Flow, Leadership – it's a powerful simplification with guidelines that are easy to remember and practical to use.

If you could wish for anything for Half Double's future, what would it be?

It could be interesting to explore and develop the digital support much further. Now that Teams is becoming ubiquitous, it would be convenient to have some tooling for Half Double in that particular framework.
